Christmas suprise

At the first cold snap we had a small kitten stop at our back door. It was cute...but we don't need a cat. Then it iced over. Now we have a cat.

Sweet hubby liked this kitty and named it Purr-suasion because it purred all the time. Percy worked for short. Also it was a girl.

A few months went by and the kitty grew. It became a bad kitty, knocking over things, digging in our indoor potted trees, and getting on the kitchen countertops. All of that was expected even if it was annoying. So we squirted her with water, sprinkled ground pepper in the tops of the potted plants, and snapped her with wet dish towels if she got on the counter. OK, right?

Then Christmas day my mom visited and picked said kitty up. She said...um...Wendybird, you said your cat was a girl?!? This one is a boy. I took a closer look and low and behold. It is a she-man kitty cat. IT"S A BOY! Suprise!

We all looked around stunned. I think this kitty may be a stray again. It certainly lead us astray...HEE HEE!

Hooray for short pants!

I come from a long line of short people, and I must confess I have trouble finding pants that fit. Either the are simply too long in the legs (but could be hemmed) or they are all together out of proportion. For those of you have the same issue you know the drill...go to the petite's section. What you will find there are short pants...but for an older generation. OR you could try the junior's section, but sometimes those have a shelf life.

So imagine my JOY when Target started carrying short length pants online.I ordered a pair and they FIT! I did a short pants jig for sweet hubby. He was not impressed. After shopping with me...he'll learn. Short pants for this short girl are a good thing!

The World Has Gone Crazy!

Or at least my little section of the world has.

Not too long ago I got a new boss. So I've been trying to find my way in how to do things with the new leadership. Well they fired him. ALREADY!! So now I am moving to another department (they say it is temporary). I feel like a nomad without a home. And also concerned that I will be an unemployed nomad to boot.

In all of the everyday craziness I am trying to cope with the Christmas craziness. I haven't had time to even take the ornament box out of the house...and in a week I could take the whole tree down. I've not made cookies. I've not listened to carols. I've not strolled the mall or looked at lights. What happened to the time?

My wish this year...is that the craziness would stop at least for one day, and I could catch up.

A blank screen

A designers dream. A designers nightmare.

Today I have a big job to work on. And all I am doing is staring at a blank screen. Yes, it is full of possibilities. All things are possible within it's white borders. White space is your friend.

(cursor blink...cursor blink...cursor blink...)

Pray ideas come...

feels like christmas

when i was young my grandmother was a bit of a bah-humbug lady. she wanted to see everyone happy but got bogged down in the 'doing' rather than finding joy in the work. i always thought that was sad, because christmas is my favorite holiday and it is my birthday (um, well, the day after christmas). anyway, i was concerned when i saw the decorations and trees going up before thanksgiving and i was mad. then i didn't want to put up decorations or go shopping for gifts. i was heading for bah-humbug status. eek!

today it is chilly outside. i had homemade soup for lunch. and i have presents to go home and wrap and put under my slightly crooked christmas tree. so, i think things are looking up. BUT i'm not putting lights on the house. it is a small boycot. maybe just a little buggy.
