Can't I stay home?

My son says to me..."Why do I have to be running a fever to stay home?" I say "Because I say so."

This is not a happy conversation.

I know he has allerges and probably he doesn't feel spiffy. I also know that he has no business staying home from school...and usually by noon he is miraculously healed and hoping for me to take him to the movies or something.

So I said it. I said. "YOU ARE GOING! And that is final." I sound just like my mother. Not sure how I feel about that.

Funny things said on medication

Sweet hubby had surgery last week. Hopefullly it will be the last one. So far he has had 4 surgeries to correct the injuries he sustained from a fall more than a year ago.

Anyway he has been pretty pumped up on meds. While he was still in the hospital he asked me if I saw his sister. I said...um...no. He said oh, she was sitting right there. In the corner. Look she spun a web for us.

I think that is when you should take the pain clicker away. :)

You can be...

Sweet hubby's oldest son got married August 25th. D (the son) married a young lady (K) who has a little girl, which means we are instant grandparents. Sure, we aren't grandparents by blood--but we will certainly enjoy spoiling her (P).

Hubby has a great grandparent name...Papa Louie. I am young, and look younger, so a grandparent name doesn't seem to jive. I was walking outside with P, and I asked her what name I should have. She thought a moment and tapped her chin and said "I think you can be....aaa...MERMAID." And then she kept walking like it was settled. I guess I will see if it sticks.
